Ain't Nothin New Now Now

Carrie is sitting in a class. One of her more favorite classes this quarter. It is a class that not only has a great teacher but Miranda and Samantha are in it as well. That's 4 guaranteed hours of seeing them each week, if not for this class, it would not happen.

Carrie does miss seeing Miranda, though. As her soul has been devoured by second stage, there is no free time in the week, except for weekends. There are but two weeks until tech, which is frightening but exciting in its own right.

A  horrible nightmare entered Carrie's dreams last night and she is quite disturbed . . .and hungry ,  right now.

Rehearsal again tonight 6:30-10:30, etc. etc.

childhood dreams

Miranda fulfilled her childhood dream of making out w/ a stranger at the Renaissance Faire, with a young man in garb. Nothing like two young adults in 16th century clothing sucking face in public...

Right after the Faire, which included much cat calls, Miranda met a boy on the bus who then asked for her number. Um, what?

Miranda also spent time with two straight men recently at Rocky Horror. Straight men do not exist in her life, but these two apparently did. One is just a friend she enjoys spending time w/, once she stopped being awkward around him. The other is from LA Jew world, meaning they have many many mutual friends and he seems to know every Jew she has dated or hooked up with, not to mention having dated her best friend's sister. She is slightly interested, because he is there, but she really needs more of an excuse to even think about creating drama for herself. He is very nice, but doubtfully interested in her.

On the other hand, she discovered that the positive outcome of being rejected from 12 tribes means she can date the men who live there.... she hopes.

Happy Hump Day

Carrie hopes everyone's hump day was better than hers. . . She overslept and was 2 minutes late to a class she had to leave after half an hour ( at 8:30 AM) to go to a meeting at 9am. So she snuck out of the class, looking like the class jerk because she left in the middle of the teacher's lecture. . .then she decided to stop by the Owl's Nest to get some caffiene in her system because, as we all know, Carrie doesn't have blood, she has red food dye and liquid caffeine running through her veins. She makes herself coffee, realizes she is running late and jumps in her car. Carrie then, in true Carrie fashion, spills some of her beverage in Chester, says "fuck it" and drives to theater arts. She parks and a meter and puts in as many coins as she has. . .hell, even her friend put in a coin or 2 for her. She had 44 minutes on the meter, obviously, she thought, this wasn't going to take long, especially since she had a class at 10am.  So this meeting takes a while, it ends at 10:10, and Carrie couldn't leave early of course because she is the stage manager.
At 10:10, she finally leaves mainstage and goes to Chester, praying on the way there that she didn't get a ticket. What do you think happened? Carrie finds Chester with a parking ticket under his windshield wiper. Hooray, another $25 to taps.
Carrie is late to class, has a parking ticket and is slightly cranky. Class went well for her, her scene was enjoyed by all, and she enjoyed the appreciative laughter and the amusement of seeing somebody play her onstage.
After class, Carrie helped a lovely young lady with the evil copier in steno pool, it was a feat of wonder. . . she made her own copies, and proceeded with the day.

Sadly, Carrie is now tired and must sleep as she has work tomorrow.

Miranda realized she forgot how to talk to straight men, when once again, she attempted to ask someone out, and was once again rejected. Thus, she decides she is simply awkward, and will have to settle for dates with her gay boyfriend, and hot nights with Sir Robert Dudley.

I Can Make You Popular

Picture this: Carrie sits in her room, her old room, not her new room and ponders. She has Wicked and Avenue Q intermittently playing in her head, perhaps a dash of Janet Jackson and Katy Perry. She looks at the spots on the walls where the wall has darkened around the pictures. This has been her home since April of 2002. What's happened since, what will happened, who she's met, who she's remembered, who she's forgotten.

Carrie is Happy. Pepe Le Pew stares at her next to the 3-D cardboard glasses and she smiles. She found an old journal today and can barely remember the girl who wrote those things. She's changed for the better.

Carrie has learned many things over the years: her gut is usually right when it comes to people (except in certain cases). Without everything that happened, she wouldn't be the fabulous person she is today.

Carrie wants to thank everyone, including the assholes and the bitches ( not the good kind of bitches) without you, she wouldn't be who she is.

We are molded by our surroundings, and partly genetics. We don't know exactly what makes us who we are but we know environment plays a significant role. We react to what we see, we imitate, we ignore, we swear to ourselves we won't "do this or that." We love, we loathe, we hurt, we laugh. Without one, we can't know the other. Happiness is made happier when you have depression to compare it to.

Carrie found other old things in her room. She can't believe they've lasted this long. Even more, she can't believe she remembers who and what they were about. She doesn't miss the past but she recognizes its significance. She tries to experience the present and think about the future.

The past is for drunk nights when there are no hot single straight men around. The past is the past for a reason. As corny as it sounds, there's a reason the people from your past that aren't around anymore didn't make it to your future.

Carrie loves and loathes, is loved and loathed, and most importantly she recognizes the importance of both.

Love,
Carrie

My God's Dick is Bigger than Your God's Dick

As Carrie sits in her living room for the last time for the month, she gets Miranda, Samantha and Maria Diega Reyes SHMAMMERRREEDD. They are having fun and have decided that they are going to hell in the designer handbaskets of Luis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Burberry, and Michael Kors so that they can switch and each try out each handbasket. Apparently Samantha is as white as chalk. . . .

Spring Quarter and Beyond.........

For Spring 08 classes, Miranda dropped the internship she signed up for, as well as failed precalc. This leaves Hebrew, which Miranda has been slacking in as well. However, she is prepared to accept the consequences, writing this off as the "screw up quarter" and is more than prepared to take precalc and statistics ALL FUCKING SUMMER.
When she's not torturing herself with math, she anticipates spending her free hours in Joyce's office working on Sustainability Council, and dreaming of that hot guy from work........
